Welcome to the official website of the Aurora Opera House (Gozo). This is the islands’ largest theatre, boasting of a 1600 people capacity, a spacious orchestra pit, envious acoustics and one of Malta’s largest stages. The Aurora is one of the islands’ main opera contributors having produced Puccini’s Madama Butterfly as the first opera in Gozo – the sister island, way back in 1977; a production which rekindled a renovated interest in opera, till then lying dormant for decades, even on the main isle of Malta.
